Upon hearing the news that Daniel Bryan was going to be featured on WWE NXT, the wrestling universe breathed a sigh of relief. Many had worried that his career would be held back due to his placement in the WWE developmental territory.
Bryan made a stellar career touring all over the world and gaining his biggest fame in Ring of Honor. Throughout the independent scene, Bryan Danielson, as he used to be called, was considered one of the top wrestlers in the world. He has consistently produced five-star match ups.
It was almost laughable that Miz would be a coach to an athlete the caliber of Bryan Danielson. Miz has landed in WWE not through his work in the independent circuit but through his MTV reality show fame.
It should be noted that Miz has grown as a wrestler over the last several months and deserves respect. He has gotten himself over, but his in-ring work is not anywhere near the level of Danielson.
I am in favor of the move because I believe that it will help both performers grow. Miz can help Danielson from a promo standpoint and without question Danielson can teach the Miz some in-ring work.
I do know that the WWE style is very different than the Ring of Honor style, but still I am sure that Miz can incorporate some of Danielson’s magic into his ring work. Miz will also get to enhance his character for taking credit in producing the best athlete from WWE NXT.

Agreed lol, but they need to play out storylines and all that jazz.
I think people should realize that The Miz DID work his way up through the Indy circuit before he just landed in the WWE. He worked there for 4 years before getting a call from the WWE about trying out for their Tough Enough show, in which many Indy stars tried out for. True, he was on the Real World. But that didn’t land him his deal with the WWE. He lost the Tough Enough Show, but did the smart thing, he kept in touch with management. He begged them for a shot, and they gave him one. Putting him in Deep South Wrestling, then in OVW for another few years. Then he finally made it to the WWE’s main roster. So yeah, he did some work dude.
Unquestionably Danielson is the better wrestler, that goes without saying. But The Miz is one of the best promo guys in the business right now. Almost at Jericho level. That’s huge! I haven’t seen one guy disagree with that statement either. Miz can really teach Danielson the entertainment side of the WWE, something he actually does lack in his incredible game. But, learning from Danielson himself wouldn’t be a bad thing. Wrestling wise one could say Danielson is one of the best in the world. Learning from a guy like that wouldn’t be a bad thing.
I can’t wait to see what they do with those two. Some may hate the pairing, but I personally LOVE this
Joe you are correct Miz has earned his spot within the WWE. It is very impressive that despite not being pushed in the way that other Superstars have Miz has been able to become a big star in the company. This is a great pair that will help one another.
Personally I can’t wait to see what comes out of this situation. I think there’s a ton of potential for both a great duo or a great feud. There’s no denying Danielson needs work on his promos and The Miz just might be the guy to help him with that.
If we see Miz start doing submission holds, well, we’ll know who he picked those up from.
