Ring of Honor will celebrate eight years of pure wrestling goodness on Friday, Feb. 13, at the Manhattan Center in New York City.

The main question to be answered is: Can Tyler Black finally dethrone Austin Aries to become ROH Champion?

Black and Aries fought to a 60-minute draw at Final Battle 2009, setting up a re-match for this Friday. If the match goes the distance, a panel of three judges will determine the winner.

Black chose Roderick Strong as a judge, while Aries chose Kenny King. ROH executive producer Jim Cornette chose himself as the third judge.

Strong will go one-on-one with Brian Kendrick, one of the mainstays of the early days of Ring of Honor before he went on to WWE and now TNA.

King will be in a Four Way Survival match against Chris Hero, Delirous, and the undefeated “Skullkrusher” Rasche Brown.

Jay & Mark Briscoe will defend the ROH tag team title against Dark City Fight Club; and El Generico will take on Davey Richards.

In addition, Prince Nana’s Embassy team of Joey Ryan & Erick Stevens will battle Necro Butcher and Eddie Kingston in a grudge tag team match with no rules.

Snow interrupts tournament

The Ring of Honor TV title tournament got underway last Friday night, but Saturday’s tapings were snowed out, so there is no champion yet.

Kevin Steen opened the tournament by defeating Rhett Titus with the crossface. Kenny King knocked off El Generico after hitting his Coronation finisher from the top rope.

Eddie Edwards defeated Colt Cabana with a half-Boston crab; and Davey Richards used an armbar to tap out Delirious.

However, the semifinals and finals of the tournament will have to wait until the next set of tapings on March 5 and 6 in Philadelphia.

This week’s TV show on HD Net saw a main event of Tyler Black defeating Roderick Strong after a superkick.

In other bouts, Delirious pinned Rhett Titus after a Bizarro Driver; and Colt Cabana pinned Sonjay Dutt after a Colt .45.

Until next time, drive safely and follow the Code of Honor.
