Over the last month or so we have seen a Smackdown in a spin tail. I was told last weeks show was good but I didn’t get to see it because I was having issues with my DVR. I lucked out this week though. For the first time in a while we got back to back weeks of good wrestling on Fridays. Last nights card was solid from tom to bottom.
We got a good triple threat match to open the show in where we saw John Morrison win his qualifier to get into the Elimination Chamber. We also got to see a couple of good qualifier matches between Jericho and Hardy, and Rey Mysterio against Dolph Ziggler. The only bout that was week was Batista vs. Punk, and that was because Batista just left so punk won by count out.
We even got to see Beth Phoenix run loose over the lovely ladies on Smackdown. The promos going into the EC were very good this week. It seems like we are in for a real treat this month. They showed the assault on John Cena from Monday and it was pretty brutal. We would see Batista power bomb Cena onto the steel steps.
The big news on Smackdown this week was the return of Edge. At last the long anticipated feud between Jericho and Edge has finally started. It started with Edge and Jericho and ended with them. They went on to cut some real nice promos on each other and I am stoked on where they are going with this feud.
I have to say this is the first time in a while that I am looking forward to the next Smackdown. I think we are in for a real treat heading into Wrestlemania with these two. I look for Jericho to pick up the win at the EC and then the fun will really start on Fridays.
