For those of you who haven’t heard by now, TNA Wrestling has come to terms to release Alissa Flash from her TNA contract. She requested the release, and was not fired out of no where.
All of the roster was told in the beginning before Hulk Hogan arrived, that if they didn’t like what was going on, or what was going to happen, then they could just pack their bags and leave. Flash most likely fit into this category.
From what I’ve being hearing from a few sources, Flash was angry with what was going on, and was ticked off because of her lack of TV time.
For those of you who don’t know, not all of the TNA talent get paid regardless of TV time or not. The mid-carders and under, as well as some of the top talent, only get paid per appearance or match. The TV spots are where the money is at, and the house shows don’t pay as much as people think.
If the creative team has nothing for you, then you’re pretty much up the creek. To get extra cash, TNA allows their talent to make appearances at other Indy promotions. Which helps the income naturally, but is not a bunch of cash.
Now, because they are TNA talent and on TV, they are well known. Which means they get paid more than the regular Indy performer, but it may only be a few hundred more, if that.
In any case, Flash was upset because of the lack of TV time TNA Wrestling was giving her. And, the issue with Hogan basically coming in and taking over didn’t sit well with her either, I’ve heard.
Then the news came out about Bubba the Love Sponge(who should never be around wrestling period) got into a backstage altercation with TNA Knockout Awesome Kong.
Bubba made some very harsh comments regarding Haiti, and that didn’t sit well with Kong. So, at a recent iMPACT taping, Kong spotted Bubba and attacked. I’ve been hearing it was much worse than reported, which is not good seeing as what was reported didn’t sound great.
Flash saw this as we all did, and from what I’ve heard, it was said to be the last straw for her. Kong requested her release, which TNA doesn’t have to give her, but to stay out legal and backstage issues, they probably will. Now, keep in mind other TNA talent has requested releases and was talked into staying, so Kong may stay. But, because she is so furious, she may demand a release. In which case, TNA Wrestling would ultimately grant.
Flash is now off the TNA roster page on TNAWrestling.com, so we know for a fact she is gone. However, Kong is still there. It’s possible that she would bargain to stay with TNA if they let Bubba the Love Sponge go, but because he adds publicity through his talk show for them, they may have some thinking to do.
It will basically come down to this, Bubba or Kong. TNA is hopefully not stupid, but as we have seen recently, they people running the place aren’t geniuses.
If they let Bubba go though, it’s still a possiblity Kong will still want a release. We will have to see.
Flash is said to have drawn WWE Interest, now if she goes there is yet to be determined. But, she has a nice figure, is pretty, and can obviously wrestle. So, she fits that Diva system.
It’s likely she would get far more TV time, and at such a young age(27), she could be there for a little while. I’ve heard she has an interest in Japan, which many wrestlers love to go. But WWE could pay her well, so we will have to see if they offer a try out and she accepts it. I feel she will take a shot and go there, but you can’t tell just yet.
