While searching for my next topic to write on in detail, I came across a number of roster notes for TNA that I thought I’d compile all into one article.
While none are shocking, I thought they were at least noteworthy for those who don’t often follow the promotion in detail, yet recognize the names involved.
Male Cheerleader Chasing Reality Show Love
Former Spirit Squad member Kenny Dykstra posted up on his Twitter page that he will be in a new FOX Reality Channel series called “Seducing Cindy.” In this series, a group of young men will be competing to win the love of actress/model Cindy Margolis.
Dykstra (his real name Ken Doane) wrote: “WWE don’t want me, TNA don’t want me right now. Guess I’m gonna get ready for “Seducing Cindy” Jan 30th 2010 glassmanmedia.com see the promo!” From that post, it looks as if TNA does not have a current interest in Doane.
I wonder if Cindy Margolis knows of his “past life” as a male cheerleader?
No Comeback for Five-Time Champ
Former TNA Star and five-time WCW Champion Booker T will not be heading back to the WWE in the foreseeable future. Negotiations between the two parties have fallen through. PWInsider.com has reported that there was talk of Booker entering the pre-screening process on Monday, but it did not happen.
ForceOfWrestling.com noted that Booker T had been telling people he would be making an appearance in the Royal Rumble in January, but apparently it is all talk. I certainly hope Booker T focuses on other ventures rather than attempt a comeback with WWE.
Knockout News and Notes
Angelina Love has been making her way around the independent circuit since her sudden departure from TNA. She has an active schedule doing independent matches and was reunited with her partner, Velvet Sky, at an event in Chicago recently.
While TNA management is unaware of any pending return, Love has been telling people that she intends to return to TNA “soon.” We’ll just have to wait and see. Love’s return would be certainly welcome.
Staying with TBP, TNA agents are well pleased with Madison Rayne. They are saying she is learning faster than the other women on the roster and is definitely improving. I have noticed her improvements of late and hope she’s given the chances to continue to improve.
Agents continue to be disappointed with Lacey Von Erich, however. They are not high on her at all and have said “she just doesn’t get it,” no matter what.
I really felt like Velvet expressed this opinion on last week’s iMPACT when she said “Bless her heart…she’s so pretty, though” after one of Lacey’s dumb comments.
SuperMex Has Caught Management’s Attention
Expect to see a push for SuperMex, Hernandez, coming up. Dixie Carter is said to be a huge fan of Hernandez’s work and has been encouraging the writers to push him
The plan presently is to have Hernandez work more live events.
SuperMex is rough around the edges and can be stiff in the ring, but he seems to be a good worker. I am a bit of a fan and hope that he continues to show improvement. He’s worth investing a push in, in my opinion.
Foley Alive, Well, and Far From Dead
Somehow, word got out and about that Mick Foley had died. He was alerted to the false rumors by an old friend sending the story along to him. Earlier today, Mick posted a blog on his MySpace to clear that rumor up. Just goes to show that not every rumor has some truth to it.
