Joe’s 411: Ring-Rap Wrestling News

The 411, one of the best sources for news across the net is back on Ring-Rap.com. There is a ton of news, so let’s get to it.

Hulk Hogan Speaks

Hulk Hogan made an appearance on the Bubba the Love Sponge Radio Show recently, and mentioned that TNA was going back to a four-sided ring. If you ask me, it would be stupid for them to do so.

The one thing that separates TNA from EVERY SINGLE PROMOTION is their six-sided ring. Taking that away means that they are just like any other promotion. And because they are trying to separate themselves from the WWE, ROH, and all the others, wouldn’t you think that people need to know what promotion they are watching every time they tune in?

If you haven’t watched any promotion since 2002, you know there are places like TNA, WWE, and ROH. If you see a six-sided ring when you come back, you know it is not WWE or ROH, which tells us that it’s TNA. The fact is, it separates you, makes you different. Why get rid of that?

Hogan also mentioned that he wanted to bring in Umaga before his death. Eddie Fatu was rumored to go there anyway, but with that endorsement, he definitely would have been there. It’s a shame to know we’ll never see it.

Keep in mind though, that this wouldn’t have been his first stint there. Fatu wrestled in TNA before he came back to the WWE under the Umaga ring name.

Low Ki update

Low Ki, under the name Kaval in the WWE, will be moving up to the main roster soon. The one thing is that he will be doing so under a mask. The reason is mainly because Rey Mysterio endorsed him, and said that he would like to feud with him whenever he came up to the main roster. The idea for the feud is to have a mask vs mask part for the two.

One idea is to have people think he is Rey Rey, but it turns out that Kaval is the man doing all the heelish things we think Rey Rey is doing. Don’t know how that will happen though. This means that Kaval will most likely be going to SmackDown when he comes up.

Another man set to be on the main roster soon is former ROH Champion Brian Danielson. He is set to bypass FCW and head straight to a main roster. It is rumored that he will go to ECW, which would be great to see.

If you are not familiar with the man, look him up online. The dude is probably the best in the world today.

TNA iMPACT on Mondays

A lot of people are thinking TNA is moving to Monday Nights permanently starting Jan. 4, 2010. This is not true. They are set to debut iMPACT on Monday Night Live then, but it is only for that week.

It is set to take place just to see how it will do on Mondays, a test run if you will. TNA iMPACT will be back on Thursday the following week. However, people need to realize that it if this episode does well, they will make the permanent move to Monday.

Hogan tried to make it seem as if they were moving for a new Monday Night War on Spike TV the other night, but believe me, it’s more so a small battle. RAW is rumored to counter the three-hour show TNA is doing with a three-hour show of their own. But that has not been confirmed as of yet.

WWE DVD Update

It is said that the WWE is starting to shoot a countdown to the 25 best matches of Shawn Michaels career and put them on a three-disk DVD set, which should be out in March 2010. Good luck with that, because it will be hard to just think of 25, because he gives a great match just about every single time he gets in the ring.

Other DVDs set to hit stores are a John Morrison DVD, Royal Rumble DVD after the PPV, and a rumored DVD for Undertaker. I think if they do a Taker DVD, it will be right before, or right after he retires.

Also, the WWE is doing a WWE Films project set to come out in 2010 that goes through the origin of the Undertaker character in an old western setting. That is set to be a theatrical release, not straight to DVD. I’d watch it, and I think most fans will too.

WWE officials are also looking to shoot a documentary on the weeks leading into Wrestlemania 26, titled The Road to Wrestlemania. However, it should be noted that WWE is very early in its process.

Which means that it still has a chance of not happening, but I personally think it will. It may be put on the Wrestlemania 26 disk set instead of another DVD entirely.

The WWE also bought the rights to two more films that WWE Films will be doing in 2010, Big Red and A Chance at Both Barrels. There is really no word on what the story is for the two movies.

Who will win at TLC

Here in Alabama where I am from, they are already advertising an Alabama Street Fight between Triple H and Big Show when they come here in January. On top of that, there is a WWE Championship match set to be a dark match between John Cena and Chris Jericho which could change to a match on the show.

This means that both Cena and Jerishow will most likely retain seeing as Cena can’t compete against Jericho for the WWE Title if he is not a Unified Tag Champion, simply because Jericho is a SmackDown Superstar.

Also, the fact that Cena is putting it on the line means that he will have to retain. Also because Triple H is facing Big Show, the DX/Jerishow rivalry may not be over.

That is all for the 411 today, but if there are any big updates today, expect me to write about it here on Ring-Rap.com. I’ll possibly just update this article, so come back to the site off and on today to see if there is anything new. It is said that TNA has a lot of big news forthcoming, so stay tuned.
