I recently went to Colt Cabana’s official website. While I was there, I saw a link to his official Myspace page. So, I said what the heck, let me click it and give it the old look over. It looked solid enough, so I figured I would contact him for a possible interview. He said yes, and this is what I got from him.
Please note that there is the possibility this is a fake. While Colt has been known to be very humorous in his interviews I’m not sure how serious I can take this one. I am posting it because I found it to be a little funny. I’m a good sport and can take being duped with humor. Whether it’s him or not, I will let that be decided by you fine people.
Here is the Myspace page I went to, http://www.myspace.com/coltcabana, and here is my interview with Colt Cabana.
1) Growing up as a kid who was it that inspired you most to become a professional wrestler?
I was inspired by the transformers. I watched a lot of gobots and transformers on sat mornings. I also saw wrestling sat mornings too….
I was inspired to transform from a regular kid to a wrestler!
2) How supportive were your family and friends once you decided that you would make a living in wrestling?
Emotionally very supportive, they were not financially supportive as I constantly asked my friends to give me thousands of dollars and they refused….jerks.
3) You have been with ROH for some time now. Looking back did you think it would grow to be as big as it is today?
I did. Its like a venis fly trap, almost from little shop of horrors. U water and feed it and it grows and grow!
4) A lot of people feel that the fans in the U.S aren’t as passionate about wrestling compared to other countries. You have wrestled in various countries through out your career. Do you think there is any truth to that feeling?
I’ve wrestled in 10 diff countries. The fans here are very passionate. It’s not about the country, but about the person in the country!
5) Growing up as kid I was always a fan of heels. One of my all time favorites was Bobby Heenan, what was it like working with a legend like Bobby Heenan, and did he offer you any advice that have used in your career?
Nah. He forgot my name 10seconds after he met me.
6) I feel that in wrestling today there has been far too much hot swapping with the heavyweight titles. Do you think that it has caused the titles to hold less credibility?
I think there’s too much title swapping on TV and not enough Wife Swap!
7) I really felt that WSX had a decent chance to make it. In your opinion what was it that caused it to fail?
I think your feeling of it having a chance to make it caused it to fail…sorry, but that’s how I feel.
8) You have worked with a lot of great grapplers. When I see guys like CM Punk, Homicide, and AJ Styles on TV I can’t help but remember their great matches they put on in ROH. Does their success show just how important ROH is?
I’ve never heard of those guys. ROH is awesome. It’s a breading ground for awesome next generation talent. Wrestling needs that or it won’t grow.
9) I feel that the ROH fans are some of the most passionate and knowledgeable that I have ever seen. Out of all the fans you have wrestled in front of would you say they are the best?
Anyone who likes wrestling cool in my book, If you’re positive and wanna have fun, then you’re a great fan!
10) You have worked with Punk for a long time. So I’m sure his straight-edge heel persona is nothing new to you. Did it ever bother you that the message he was saying during his promos were used while he was a heel?
Nah man, He could shit on Justin Roberts face and id think it’s hilarious.
11) You have spent some time in the WWE. What are some of the differences you noticed between working with them and the smaller promotions?
*Titantron *big ring *TV shows *famous wrestlers *Vince McMahon*toys *sold out arenas *hot chicks etc etc
12) You have won your fair amount of gold in your career. To date what would you say was the most self satisfying title you have held thus far?
The 1993 Deerfield Illinois Hotdog eating championship! By far.
13) Where do you see you’re self as a wrestler in 5 to 10 years
in a ring, wrestling, probably like 5 to 10 yrs older.
14) If you could wrestler anyone alive or dead, who would be the one opponent you would like to work with?
I definitely would wanna wrestle the dead version of Bryan Adams. Id kill him…oh wait, he’d already be dead….but u get the idea!
