Jason Powell at ProWrestling.net is reporting that Nigel McGuinness has chosen to sign with TNA instead of WWE. It is believed that the reasoning behind his decision was the length of time it was taking to receive his contract.
Obviously, this is a major blow to WWE – perhaps even more so than losing Brian Danielson would be. Nigel certainly has the look and the charisma that Vince McMahon loves, and his in-ring ability speaks for itself.
As far as opportunities in TNA go, there’s certainly plenty of talent for him to work with – Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, and Kurt Angle, just to name a few. Can Vince Russo book him credibly, however? Time will tell.
Powell is reporting Nigel’s name in TNA will be “Desmond Wolfe,” which is not nearly as bad as I was expecting.
